Terms and Conditions
1. All plays must be submitted in electronic PDF format. This can be done at registration or by post in electronic PDF form. No paper or email submissions will be accepted.
2. A maximum of two entries will be accepted from any one playwright with each play incurring a UKP15 entry fee. Each play must be registered separately.
3. The entry fee can be paid via PayPal during the registration process (preferred); alternatively a cheque or bank draft in pounds sterling may be posted to the address provided.
4. A submitted play will not be registered into the competition until a PDF of the play and the registration fee have both been received.
5. Every registered play will be read by two industry professionals in the first stage of the reading process. Plays selected to move onto the next stage will receive a further two readings. The selected plays from this stage will be read once more for consideration by the selection panel. The final selection of plays will be given a staged script-in-hand reading by the professional members of NAAA directed by professional UK directors during the festival week. Each playwright will be emailed feedback from each stage of the reading process that the play reached.
6. At each stage of the reading process playwrights will be automatically notified by email of the progress of their play.
7. A policy of anonymity will be maintained throughout the reading process to ensure that all plays are judged on the merit of the work. Any playwright who is considered to have circumvented or tried to circumvent the anonymous process may have any entry disqualified.
8. Those playwrights whose scripts are chosen for performance will be notified. There is the opportunity for playwrights of selected plays to liaise with the director who will be directing the reading of their play.
9. The selection of plays by the selection panel will be final. The panel will not enter into correspondence.
10. Entries which have not been registered on this site or that arrive past the deadline will not be accepted.
11. Copyright of plays submitted remain with the copyright holder.
12. The list of selected plays and further information about the festival will be made available on the festival website, www.naaaplayreadingfestival.com
